Maracas Beach
Maracas Bay is one of Trinidad’s most
popular beaches and is never empty. Its beautiful off-white sand, palm trees
and blue-green waters attract local and foreign beach lovers at any given time
or day. Maracas beach is located approximately 10 miles or a 40 minute drive from
Port of Spain, the country’s capital. The tumbling waves, with an average
height of 3 feet, makes it an ideal place for surfing. The expanse of beach shore
is enough to accommodate sunbathes or can be used for various sporting
activities such a friendly game of football or cricket. Apart from its
picturesque site, Maracas Bay is notoriously known for its food or more so for
its famous mouth-watering bake and shark which visitors travel for miles to get
